Previously I have spoken about adding some jewellery to jazz up your look – but men are starting to make a permanent stamp on their bodies to stand out from the crowd. Tattoos have always been a part of our culture, but it seems that lately they have become more and more popular, and its not just one tattoo; men are constantly etching designs over their bodies as a way of showing their individualism and creativity.
Tattoos are also extremely popular within the celebrity world – from David Beckham, Maroon 5 star Adam Levine, to Russell Brand and Johnny Depp; all of them sport inked tributes over various parts of their bodies, all with different meanings, often in different languages. Rapper Professor Green had the word ‘Lucky’ tattooed onto his neck after being stabbed in the neck. And tattoo enthusiast David Beckham has many tattoos dedicated to his children and his wife.
They are seen as works of art to many, but for some a tattoo holds a deeper meaning; often men’s tattoos play homage to various events in their live or particular people, such as an important date or family member – a permanent mark showing how much that event/person means to them. The idea of the ‘sleeve’ is also getting more and more popular, this is where the person has an abundance of tattoos, often surrounding a particular theme, tattooed all over the arm or leg .
Some see it as a symbol of commitment, others just think they look good – but whatever you think about them, if you like the idea of getting a tattoo make sure you think about it first as once they have been done, they are very hard to remove.
