Turn Your Flat Into A Bachelor Pad

Paul McGregor Lifestyle No Comments

If you’ve recently moved into a new apartment or are thinking about updating your current one, there are a number of ways to up the ante. Nobody wants to come home to a boring, empty flat, so here are some ideas on how to spruce up your pad to turn it into a bachelor’s paradise.

TV

A bona fide bachelor pad will always have a massive television as the centre piece of the living room. There are a number of highly affordable options now available as flat panel technology has become the standard. Deciding on whether to go for a plasma or LCD will be your biggest decision. LCDs are the best option for those wanting to hook up their computers to the TV for extra bachelor points. If you’re all about lounging around watching films, a plasma TV will give you a batter depth of colour with truer blacks than an LCD TV.

Furniture

A bachelor pad should always tread the fine line between functionality, style and comfort. A leather sofa is a must, at least in an ideal world, but whether you go for a Chesterfield or something more modern is up to you. Not only will it elevate your home, it will provide a great base to socialise with friends and lounge about.

The same goes for your wardrobe. Consider investing in open plan storage facilities that not only add to the look of your home but also add new levels of functionality. Why not buy a purpose built Gentlemens dresser that can clearly display your wardrobe as well as reduce clutter.

Robo Vacuum

What bachelor doesn’t want a servant? More than that, what bachelor doesn’t want a robot!? Combine the two by investing in a robot vacuum. It could be your best investment yet. These highly intelligent machines can take care of all your cleaning needs and, best of all, you don’t need to be around to make sure it does it. With a number of automatable features, a robotic vacuum can clean the house when you’re out at the pub and it even puts itself back to charge.

Bar

If you want to breathe a bit of life into your home, having people round regularly for drinks can be a great way of livening up the atmosphere. No bachelor pad is complete without some form of mini bar. Having a well-stocked bar is always the best place to start. Investing in a cocktail shaker, an ice bucket and some specially designed tumblers so you can serve up some delicious cocktails at the drop of a hat is also essential.
